Rüstem Pαshα Mosque ~ Ottomαn
The Rüstem Pasha Mosque is an Ottoman mosque of the Eminönü district of Istanbul, Turkey. was designed by Ottoman imperial architect Mimar Sinan for Grand Vizier Damat Rüstem Pasha (husband of one of the daughters of Suleiman the Magnificent, Princess Mihrimah) Rüstem Pasha died in July 1561 and the mosque was built after his death from around. Rüstem Paşa Cami (Eminönü-İstanbul) Kanuni Sultan Süleyman’ın Sadrazamlarından ve aynı zamanda kızı Mihrimah Sultan’ın kocası olan Damat Rüstem Paşa için Mimar Sinan’a yaptırıldı. Caminin yerinde önce Halil Efendi Mescidi vardı. Bu mescidin yeri çukurda kaldığı için Mimar Sinan, mescidin altına dükkânlar yaparak bir subasman meydana getirdi. Rüstem Paşa Camii, mescidin yerinde kuruldu. (1561)
